Established in 1931, GIA is the world's foremost authority on diamonds and provider of diamond reports. Before GIA came up with the 4C's (Cut, Colour, Clarity, Carat) as a standard to judge diamonds, there was no standard by which diamonds could be judged. Today, the 4C's method is used universally for assessing the quality of diamonds. While we would always give credit to the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) as the authority of diamond reporting, this does not suggest that other leading labs are not as proficient or as worthy, or that their certificates are less valuable. IGI and HRD for instance also are among the world’s most renowned labs.
Several other labs like EGL do diamond reporting. However, we still note substantial price differences depending on the certificate issuing lab.
Our diamond experts always choose diamonds with GIA certificates, H coulour and SI1 clarity to be mounted on our item of jewellery. Indeed we clearly consider them as the best value for money deals for so-called white diamonds. However if you are looking for a diamond with a different certificate, please let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will come back to you with a quote in a timely manner. You can also provide us with the stock ID of the diamond that you are interested in and found through our loose diamond search engine. Please note that you can also find scanned certificates for most of the diamonds that are listed on our website. If it is not available, please contact us and we will send this copy to you immediately.
